And here is the band!
(it might help to enlarge these photos to get a clearer look)
Lester is fourth on the left,
and I am second from the right.
We are playing in an old school canteen,
in Borderes sur l'Echez.
We are 'posing' for this photo,
except Lester,
who is trying to get his violin to stay on his music stand.
I am the one with the accordion,
next to the harp.
And here we are in full swing,
watching Lester as he takes up his solo,
with me keeping an eye on him.
We normally sit together,
but were separated on this occasion.
This was at the start of the evening before most people arrived,
and it was a 'bal' event,
which is sort of like English country dancing but French style.
And here we are at Le Progres, Nogoro.
As you can see,
everyone is playing except me,
which is because they are playing a very fast Irish jig,
and I have run out of puff.
Lester is on the left of me, playing his mandolin.
Lester deep in concentration as Jacques and Herve rock it away.
.....and now relaxed after having had a session with his fiddle.
.... and me and my accordion!
Hope you enjoyed sharing our musical 'moments'
Bye for now,
Vx
..... a few seconds of 'Star of County Down'
( we are novices at videoing ourselves at the moment!)

So where is the Bagpiper?
Vera this is just terrific! thanks for sharing!
PIONEER PREPPY....the bagpiper? he is away to his own marching band!
OHIOFARMGIRL, glad you enjoyed!
Oh Bravo Vera & Lester!
It looks as if you'll have less time left for work on the farm; the irresistible world of music is waiting for you two. Playing the violin, the accordion, the piano with or without a band can be quite fascinating and fulfilling.
Lovely pictures! Thanks for sharing.
Oh great pics! Looks like you all had a blast.
JESSICA, Thanks!
DUTA, Thank you, but we do have time for running the farm because this year we are not having to spend so much time renovating the house! You are right, though, music does pull us towards playing more!
LISA, we did indeed have a blast! It was great!
Great photos and nice change to see you away from the farm. Bet this is relaxing for you after farming all day. Have a good Easter Diane
You and your band sound fantastic. I'm sure the people watching and listening really enjoyed the night. I would have loved to come and listen and maybe even have a dance or two. It's really too bad you live so far away.
The short clip sounded great. Maybe a bit longer next time?
DIANE, I have been meaning to take photos when I am out and about but keep forgetting to take my camera. These photos were taken by Cathrin, who is the harpist of the band. Hope you have a good weekend as well.
HORST, glad you enjoyed the vid, short as it was. It was indeed a lively night!
CRO MAGNON, the clip was taken by one of the band members via her cell phone, but it has inspired me to learn how to use the video on my camera instead of just taking photos with it!
Excellent!
Great set of photos showing you all having a blast.
Looks like a great night Vera, how talented you both are x
ALLY, Thanks!
KERRY, it was great fun!
KIRSTY, bless you, we just love playing music!
