Puppies! Water!

Sometimes the puppies are quiet, sometimes not. Sometimes they are naughty, sometimes not.

Sometimes they are bold, especially when Bools is around. Bools is not sure of the two girls though, especially when they decide to romp over him when he is in his bed. This particularly applies to early in the morning, as he is not an early riser. Gus has abandoned the kitchen altogether because he can't handle the girls at all, and would prefer not to see them, nor to have anything to do with them at all. There is much room for improvement between them and Gus at the moment.

Lester is besotted, as I am. They have given an injection of energy into the home, despite the puddles and poos which are to be found only after one has stepped into the wetness or sludge. Not to worry, when it stops raining we will start potty training them in earnest.

Oh and the water! Well there is always a plus side to any situation, so although the sheep can't get onto the Main Field because of this newly formed lake, at the least the field is having a rest, which enables the grass to put on some growth which the sheep can then eat when it is dry enough for them to be put back on that field. And the geese! Crikey, they are having a grand time!

Sooner or later the rain will stop, and then everything will return to 'normal'.

And here a few vids for you to look at if you have time. I hope the definition on the vids is OK, only I think the camera I am using is starting to get worn out, so at some point I think we will have to find a few pennies to replace it. Anyway, hope you enjoy the vids:

Vera....puppies in the house.... It's been a long long time for us.... And this coming year we hope to have another welsh terrier in the house.......
Most people say arrrhhhhh when puppies arrive..... I don't...I am not a fan of them...I much prefer when bladders are sorted and teething has finished...
They look fine figures of dogs though

John, because we are always in renovation mess it is not a problem with teething and puddling puppies, because they can't make the place look any worse than what it is already! They are chunky little bundles and an absolute delight!

Your puppies look like super chunky bundles of fun :-) I suspect you will have your hands pretty full!
Hope your 'lake' subsides soon. Before this frosty period we have now our ground was horribly squelchy with puddles dotted around because everything was over saturated.

Vera I do love your videos! Really getting to know the layout of Labartere now. Shame the ganders have been fighting, but inevitable I suppose.

The puppies are beautiful, but will they be fearsome when they grow up?

Niall and Antoinette, we are 'over saturated' as well! And the lake grew bigger and bigger today until it was nearly at the courtyard gates, but now it is receding, thank goodness!

Jessica, I hope that the puppies are only fearsome to look at when they grow older, and do not turn into howling, biting fiends! But I don't think they will as we shall train them to be friendly, and their mum and dad were house pets and not guard dogs, so their bloodline is a 'soft' one. Time will tell!

Hi Vera, love the videos and the puppies are so cute. The puppies will grow up to be good friendly dogs, as long as they are treated well. Your older dogs will be there to keep them in line. You also have to remember that you must be leader of the pack. Rottweilers are very protective of the home area so when you are not home they will protect your property. Your barn where the animals live, is 2 story, will this be your living quarters later?

Horst, thanks for the info about Rottweillers. I make sure I am of the boss of them already, even though they are little. As for the two story barn, it is supposed to be guest accommodation if we have the money to sort it out, or somewhere to store things if we don't!

Tommo, nice to hear from you, and hope you are well. Glad you liked the vids, the waters have stopped rising for the moment after giving us a scare last night, and you take care too!
