Well your baby cow is not a cow yet, she is still a heffer. ;-) I love these cows, they are so cute when they are young. When the are ready to give milk, they have the best cream content in their milk.
Vera your calf is still very young and is probably wanting to be with her mother, that's maybe why all the complaining. Also cows (calves, heifers) are social animals.

Horst, you are right. We put her out into the field with everyone else yesterday afternoon, and she still complained but at least she had the company.
