ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz,.......... and yummy!

Le matelas est arrivé. Oui. C'est vrai. Le matelas est arrivé!!!!!!!! Sound the bells. Cheer out loud, for now we can leave those most difficult things to sleep on, settees not really being the most ideal places to sleep, although for a night or two they will do, but for over three weeks.....no, they are not.

But we have a wee prob, and that is that we have become used to sleeping cramped up, with no room to turn over, no room to stretch out, and, for me, half my legs hanging off the end of my two seater settee. Although this mattress is the normal size, it feels as if we are sleeping on the prairie, and we don't know whether to lay this-away or that-away, so we are tending to fidget, probably making up for those many nights when we dare not move a muscle in case we fell off the sofas. I hope that soon we shall be all fidgeted out.

Meanwhile, zzzzzzzzzing in a bed is a delightful occupation, and one that I shall not take for granted any time soon.

.......and out in the pig paddock, these little cuties were having a zzzzzzzing time this afternoon....

.......all in a heap until we came along and woke them up,
Lester needing to fix the electric fencing before the big pigs dug their way out.
....and time to visit their dad, ...

...until dad got upset because Lester was in the other paddock with 'his' girl.....

.....so we all stand in line behind dad while he has a grumble at Lester.....

....and then dad gets just a little bit too cross for the littl'uns liking,
so best to scamper away toute suite...

..... and get back to the safety of mum....
and a quick slurp of the wallow water along the way...

....and mum calling them in for afternoon tea......

..... meanwhile we carried on with mending the fencing, and then we shall put the work on the kitchen on hold while we finish off the paddocks we started earlier on in the year, so that the pigs can get a rest from the hard earth of their current paddocks.

I suppose the kitchen will be finished eventually,
but at least we can stretch out in bed!

Hello! Followed your blog for ages. Love it. Hubby and I have just got a new mattress and its wonderful. Bought a second mattress and new bed to take to our place in Basse Normandie next week at the same time. Such a good investment when the old bones and joints are getting creaky. Planting trees next week and plasterboarding in spare bedroom so will need some good nights sleep. Sweet dreams, Vera!

Ally, hope you sleep well on your new mattress as well! It's a shame that you are up at the top of France and we are right down at the bottom otherwise I would pop in for a cup of tea / coffee and we could share our experiences of renovating and mattresses!

Northsider Dave, I am in a much better humour, especially with my husband, now that I am getting a good night's sleep.

Ohiofarmgirl, I am enjoying those little piglets, but always at the back of my mind I have the thought that they are our food for later on next year, which makes me respect and want to care for them even more!

Niall and Antoinette, I had fun as well watching them!
